I've been exploring my portrait paintings this week, expanding on the idea of the Bijou child portrait cards. I've made some more Bijou Cards and they will be in my Etsy shop to buy next week.
This week I have mainly images to show of work I've completed in my studio, as I have been a bit under the weather and not feeling to so well. I've had a week of ups and downs with these Bijou portraits as some have worked and others have worked out not so well.
Here are some new Bijou Child Portrait Cards 6" x 6"
These are the photographs in which they came from.
The photographs do not have to be in good condition, they can be old and the image quality doesn't have to be perfect. As long as I can get a character or an expression and the moment, then I feel it works. The middle image is me as a baby, so OLD images do work and can be full of character too. I am thinking of giving a few vouchers out to anyone who might be interested in having a Bijou Child Portrait card commissioned by me. I will create free of charge. By doing this I can go through the process and get some good practice in. Maybe its an idea.
Other studio work this week have been these framed Child portraits. They are in the same style as the cards but with a little bit of luxury as they are on canvas and framed. Still working on these before they are in my shop, I'm not completely satisfied with them yet, but I thought I'd give you a peek with my progress so far.
Here are some past portraits I would love to complete some more child portraits using oils, inks, Acrylics and embroidery. Or just pencil portraits.
Have a lovely weekend, much love x x
